SEA took full responsibility for providing the Client with all technical support required for project delivery to Commercial Operations Date and managing the smooth handover to the Client’s operations team.

The services included Health Safety & Environmental compliance, budget setting and monitoring, programming and scheduling, liaising with the landowner and the local community, contract administration, permitting and consents management and liaising with lenders and the Client’s finance team.

The project was successfully delivered on time and within budget.

As part of upgrading works to a nearby Grid Substation, National Grid required the project to be dramatically constrained and even disconnected for certain periods.

SEA proposed innovative and collaborative techniques which were accepted by National Grid, including ‘sharing’ of renewable asset connected capacity with a neighbouring hydro generator during low water/maintenance periods.

Additionally, SEA extensive experience in Transmission and Distribution, enabled the Client to successfully challenge the National Grid programme, resulting in a substantial reduction of the constraint impact and periods of disconnection of the project.

Over the 3 year works period, the project’s production losses were reduced by well over £10 million of the originally projected negative impact.
